Don’t you love that phrase? “Hitting the road.” I love it. I don’t mean that in a negative, running-away-from-something way. I mean, as in every once in a while, you just have to get away. You may know that I do that quite a bit. : )
And it has been a while since I’ve disembarked on an adventure. Now, I’m headed to Foto Fest. OK, driving east from my home to North Carolina is not a big deal. I’ll give you that, but that doesn’t stop me from making it an adventure. And that is what I’m looking for now. I little taste of adventure. Yum. Serve up an extra helping and I’ll clean the moss from these shoes on my way out the door!
I’m looking forward to driving with some nice tunes while I’m thinking creative thoughts. Which reminds me of a quote I saw earlier this week by Picasso. He said, “I paint objects as I think them, not as I see them.” At first, perhaps it seems odd to find inspiration in a painter, but quite the opposite in my opinion: what better source of inspiration for my photography than Picasso? I’ll let you chew on that one for a while as you enjoy these images from my Namibian adventure earlier this year.
