The 2022 edition of the Knoxville Photo Exhibition begins this Friday night at the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville. The exhibition consists of 45 photographs selected by UT professor of art Baldwin Lee. I had the good fortune to have two of my images selected for the exhibit. That’s so cool and humbling. I’ve included both images in this post. On the one hand, these images are radically different. On the other, they reflect the same basic elements of photography like subject, form, contrast, and texture. These radically different images have remarkable similarities. I love that about photography.
If you’re in the Knoxville area, come out to see these and more than 40 other photographs. The opening begins at 5:00 pm and ends at 9:00. The address of the Emporium is 100 S. Gay Street. Tons of free parking nearby. Should be a good night as far as the weather is concerned. What more do you need? See you there!

Good evening Steve. Congratulations on getting two into the photography show at the Emporium. I got skunked this year, becoming a bit of a habit it seems but I’ll keep working at it.
If you get downtown a little early swing by Robin and my studio and say hello. It’s been a while and I expect to be downtown probably from one until 9 o’clock. Our studio and gallery is at 418 South Gay St.. It’s the very back of the Phoenix Building.
Would love to see you for a few minutes if you have time. If we’re not too busy I’ll break away and come down and see the show in the Emporium. I hope we’re busy as it should be a beautiful night for first Friday.
Blessings, Chris Rohwer
